Self-Care Series: 40-Day Challenge (Day-34)

I love to steam my face, it is invigorating and feels so healthy. I started steaming my face when I was a young teenager to avoid blemished or at least shorten their time on my face. The great news is that you can give yourself a facial for almost no cost.

The benefits of facial cleansing:

  • Increases circulation
  • Decrease oil build-up
  • Skin moisturizer
  • Helps with absorption of moisturizers after steaming if you need it.
  • Great for your sinuses
  • Gives you a rosy glow😊

Grab a towel to cover your head over the hot pot and get creative with steaming. Add essential oils, herbs, tea leaves to your hot water, or just use very hot distilled water alone.

You can also steam your face with a hot towel.

Just remember to be very careful, the water is very hot and can scald your skin. If your skin is very dry use some oil on your skin before steaming.. olive oil or coconut oil are great choices. When you are finished 5-10 minutes; rinse with very cold water, lightly pat dry and add your moisturizer (to somewhat damp skin) if needed.
